How it works › What the marks mean

Badges

Badges on exercise cards show what kind of exercise it is.

A band page in progress mode: the house badge on the group itself, and the cards under it wearing theirs — a hammer on the ones that raise it, beside the speed, fill-in and problem-count marks
Timed
Complete as many problems as you can within the time limit.
Fill in
Type in the missing number rather than solving for the answer.
Balance
Find the value that makes both sides of the equation equal.
Mixed
Problems drawn from across related exercises.
Three terms
Equations with more than the usual two numbers.
Crossing ten
Sums where the ones go past ten, or where you have to go back past ten.
Across the point
Decimals in columns where you carry or borrow across the point: the tenths make a whole, or a whole becomes ten tenths.
Problem count
How many problems this exercise has.
Build
This card helps raise its group's cabin. Finish it and another course goes up.
Its own cabin
This group has a cabin of its own in your village. The cards under it marked with a hammer are what raise it.
