This is going to be easy...

Maqqii

Broad, purposeful maths practice that builds step by step, for children from about 5.

Maqqii is a balanced network of maths skills, supported by progress charts and reports. Every skill builds on what is already in place, and the charts show what is already going very well and where support from a parent or teacher can be effective.

How it goes

  1. 1. The first exercise Start with the exercise above: the pupil does the first round, as a guest. No account is needed yet.
  2. 2. A name of their own Does it suit? Give the pupil a name of their own, and everything they have done so far is kept. No email address is needed.
  3. 3. A few more times A few rounds a day is enough. Maqqii finds the pupil’s level, and the village grows along.
  4. 4. The village Every exercise earns wood, and with wood the pupil builds a village of their own, with houses, mills and paths.
  5. 5. The charts Link the pupil to your account: the charts then show you how quickly and how well it is going, on any device, and every Sunday the weekly report arrives.

For pupils

What the pupil does when they practise, on a phone, tablet or computer.

Rounds of ten sums

One sum at a time on the screen, with no distractions during or between the sums. That is how a pupil does dozens of sums in a few minutes, from number lines, addition and subtraction to times tables, division, fractions and much more, and later money.

At their own level

Maqqii is not set up in advance by school year or age. What counts is skill. Harder problems are offered once the pupil has shown consistent skill and speed in the current work. On the other hand, a pupil will first have to make a start on subtraction before learning the times tables down to the last detail. And with the tests on offer, whole parts of a topic can be skipped in one go.

A village they build themselves

By doing sums and finishing exercises, a pupil lays out a cosy forest village entirely their own way. Each house stands for a maths topic of its own, for example Addition to 10. Finishing exercises in that topic slowly builds its house. Birds fly from the treetops to the houses and on again, and children play on and between the paths. And finally, the village is also a place to rest for a moment from the hard maths work.

For you as a parent

What you set up, what you choose and what you get back.

You choose what is practised

For each pupil you switch topics on or off: just addition and subtraction, or times tables, fractions and powers too. Within a topic Maqqii keeps track of the order itself, and every topic that is on has its next exercise ready.

You see how it goes

Every Sunday evening the weekly report in your mail: what was practised and how far the pupil has come. The charts show every round, sum by sum, and how quickly the answers come, so you can see where it goes smoothly and where it gets stuck.

Two weeks of everything, free

After that, practice stays free and three exercises a day count. Go on without limit with a Seat: €4 a month per pupil, cancel any month.

  • No ads, no tracking
  • Nothing ever sold to the pupil

Maqqii is still in alpha: new, and very much being built. Accounts and progress are kept through updates — Maqqii makes sure of that. If you do see something odd, tell Maqqii.
